It was my first attempt at doing something with Three.js and I’m pretty happy with the result.

10 Seconds Indy Game Pitch

I wrote this game for the 27th Ludum Dare Game Jam where the topic was “10 Seconds”.
After I initially rejected the theme, this game idea suddenly popped up in my head the next morning.
My goal was to playfully approach the topic of marketing thinking, that even Indy development is not free from.
People rightfully pointed out though, that it’s more like a publisher Game Pitch.

In general it was received as a interesting and unexpected idea and fun to play!

Franky flies High

I built this game in Unity, starting in February 2012. I worked with an artist friend who did the original character design and all of the artwork. The gameplay is a very simple one button control sheme, but it can still be quite challenging.

So that translated to this game where you are on an Island with some strange glowing creatures in the air. But you are alone. You are the chosen, which relates to the puzzle you have to solve. It’s quite cryptic in it’s instructions so I don’t know if anyone ever saw the end. Basicaly you have to collect all the eggs/boulders. There are are six on the island. And drop them in front of the big boulders that are standing in a circle if you do that a light appears on top of the pyramid and if you go to the pyramid the end sequence starts.

Plane of Strawberry Nightmares

The Goal of the game is to reach the top of the tower int the center of the plane, without getting insane.
You wander through a surreal level with maddening music that I hacked together in Unity. All in all it took me about 6 hours.
It’s more about the kind of mood you can create, using colors and sound than about actual gameplay.

Take this!”.
The Idea of the game is to use a cloning device which creates copies of your character and its’ timeline to solve puzzles.
The result is a nice platformer type of game with an interesting mechanic.

It ran there on a big wall made up of 96 Shiftbrite RGB LEDs a friend of mine assembled. Using a costum arduino program we where able to run a framerate of more than 60 Hz. The program features the classic Tetris, playable with a Gamepad. Additional features included a VJ interface that allowed them to run costum animations on the wall.

Halloween Game 2008

I wrote this game just for fun experimenting with processing. I used some sprites I had created in 2003 but never used. You play a witch flying on your broom and collecting pumpkins, dodging the bad purple pumpkins.
It features a unique way to control your character with the mouse, something I haven’t seen in sidescrollers before.

You play a Dwarf that is trapped in a deep deep mineshaft and has to escape. It was inspired by Icy Tower one of my favorite games at the time.
You jump from platform to platform as it is dark in the mine you need to collect crystals to create light.
A pickaxe helps you to stick to walls. The shadows and the sounds of the crystals work well to create a nice underground athmosphere.

Zombie Slaughter

I wrote this game for the 5th Ludum Dare. The Theme was “Random”. The Theme is matched by generating random terrain, which is destructable. As we all know destruction equals fun. Also with each level more zombies spawn and the music gets faster which adds to the madness. Particle blood and three different guns including a Flame Thrower catapulted this game to the 3rd place in the fun category.

Santa Racer

I wrote this game for a christmas hack. Unfortunately your turrents aren’t that good so there is going to be destruction on your side. The style is very minimal and everything except for explosions is grey. I wanted it to convey a desolate feeling of war unavoidable, which was perceived by some as an anti war statement.

Ballerschaf

I wrote this game for the 2nd Ludumdare Game Jam.
